“Adelboden-Lenk..dänk!” is one of the top ski regions in Switzerland, with a rich and long-standing tradition of snow sports and a wide range of pistes suitable for beginners right up to professionals. A modern transport infrastructure carries visitors quickly and safely to the ski areas, which are generally over 2000m (6500ft) above sea level. Thanks to their high altitude, snow can generally be guaranteed between December and the end of April. In addition, 60% of the pistes can be treated with artificial snow if necessary. Engstligenalp is a perfect ski area during springtime and the starting point for ski tours across the Wildstrubel massif. Adelboden has a fixed place in the FIS Ski World Cup calendar: the giant slalom event on Chuenisbärgli is one of the classics among Alpine ski meetings and annually draws over 30,000 excited spectators to watch the action live. In summer and autumn, Adelboden is a paradise for outdoor activities: over 150km (100 miles) of maintained footpaths and hiking trails take you right into the heart of the natural world. Countless mountain bike routes of varying degrees of difficulty take you around the village and its outlying pastures. Breathtaking descents on the new "trottinett" motor-less scooter guarantee fun for young and old alike. The unique landscape cannot fail to captivate you on the tennis courts or in the heated outdoor panorama swimming pool either.
